It’s hard to believe that the company which is pretty much at the heart of all that we do on the Internet is 9 years’ old today. Even though the domain was registered in 1997, Google actually launched in September, 1999. It is quite surprising what they have achieved in such a short time and how important a tool it is for much of us. It can take Google a number of weeks to index a website (some people say months). Well, we were pleased that our site went live a week ago (official date 14th September) and Google cached its first page on the 16th September. The only thing we did was to feed the site one backlink: www.swanseabayit.net and, hey presto!, picked up in 2 days. Many more backlinks and discussion on this will come in the weeks to come.
