“If you think about it, all the world’s information includes personal information. Personal information is held in online word processing, online spreadsheets, online calendar, online email. If we can unify those in a way that’s new and make them shareable … We think it has a really big impact on end users.”
Eric Schmidt
CEO, Google

Google Day will lift the lid on all of the various tools that you will find in the Google product range. Google has said that, “it would be better for you to have all the data and all the applications that you use on a server somewhere, and then whatever computer or device you’re near you would be able to use.” And that is exactly the angle that we come from.

What Is It?
Google Day is a one-day course aimed at giving attendees an insight into some of the tools that Google has in its portfolio all of them aimed at improving productivity, communication and, hopefully, sales. The course will take a look at the principle tools that operate under the Google banner, including Google Search, AdWords and Analytics to Google Docs and Spreadsheets, Google RSS and YouTube. In total there are around 12 tools which we will show you how to use on the workshop.

For most modules we will attempt to make sure that you will have received hands-on experience and be able to use the tool that we introduce you to. We wnat to make sure that not only do you set up and undertand ho wto use these tools but that you continue using them when you leave the workshop.

What Will You Get Out Of It?
Here are some of the uses people have put our workshop to:

  • They can carry out power searches to find company, competitor or market information on Google
  • They have learnt how to set up a Gmail account and can now organise business emails and contacts much more effectively
  • Google Documents allows clients to remotely share, edit and discuss word processing and spreadsheet files
  • Using Google Calendars staff/partners in remote offices can gain access to and see what people’s movements are; set up alerts and create invitations
  • YouTube is allowing more and more of our clients to add product clips, testimonials and how-to guides to the web and to share these with clients and suppliers
  • Setting up a Google Reader and Groups account means that clients get targeted information delivered direct to their mail box and can share and discuss any number of company/market-related news.
  • Google Products means that clients can upload product information quickly and get access to new online markets
